Created in Pokémon Essentials v18.1 (+MKXP)

Plot
It is by chance one day that you fall into the Honnis Underground, left to fend for yourself with only a single Pokéball. It is through a rather unusual series of events that you find yourself wrapped up in a conspiracy involving the beloved "Baker's Dozen"! Will you save the region from chaos? Will you uncover the secrets of the Honnis Region? Will you beat 8 gyms and the Pokémon League in the process? ...Probably.

The Honnis Region

The Honnis region is a sprawling and diverse land filled with countless different Pokémon and cities filled with all kinds of interesting people and places.

Though it contains countless secrets of its own, its most interesting feature is undoubtedly the Honnis Underground, a vast network of cave systems containing hundreds of Pokémon that cannot be found anywhere else in the region. Pokémon within it are more active than their surface counterparts, and there are some individuals that have demonstrated unusual amounts of strength and aggression.
It is said that the Pokémon within have the mysterious property of 'scaling' to the strength of your party!

Treat Traits

  • Special abilities granted upon consuming specific items, Traits come in a wide variety of effects that can be granted to any Pokémon!
  • Grants varying stat boosts depending on a species' strength, allowing even weaker Pokémon to keep up with their evolved counterparts
  • While a Pokémon possesses a Trait, it loses the ability to evolve via level-up, requiring it to be evolved through the party menu.
  • Through the use of the EZ-Oven and some recipes, you can even craft your own Pokétreats at any time!

  • Followers do not have their running animations work correctly (also present in base essentials).

  • Beating a miniboss in an Expedition will very rarely cause the game to freeze

Not technically bugs but
  • Music does not loop correctly due to issues with v18’s version of MKXP.
  • Scatterbug swarms will instantly disappear when the timer event triggers.
  • A few Pokémon are missing one or more of their new shiny forms. This will be fixed at a later date.

Released patch v0.4.12, squashing a couple of bugs, but primarily focusing on more adding a little surprise for anyone that explores the Autumn Grotto after getting the HM for Cut.

On a related note, I managed to get the online servers updated slightly, fixing a couple of legality bugs that now allow the Eeveelutions as well as the signature moves of a few special Pokémon to be used and traded online.

Hello there, I apologize if this is not the place to report a bug but whenever I try to save Terrence from the Druants before the fight starts the game just closes, no error codes it just dies (on update v0.4.12)

Odd. Try running the game from the other executable and see if it gives a message. I'll check it myself once I'm home.

EDIT: Yeah, I can't seem to replicate it at all on my end even while trying out different combinations of badge count + difficulty modes

I think I see what a potential cause was, though I'm not entirely sure why it would have triggered at the point that it did.
Dropping another .1 patch in the main post, let me know if the issue still persists.

So have been playing the game and its phenomenal. Have been having a blast and the trait system has been super fun. The game writing and looks are superb. However I want to report a little issue that is minor but still a bit weird. During the event that triggers after completing the leaf puzzle in the underground, the wild mon that you fight doesnt have a sprite shown at all during the cutscene. Subsequently after the fight the two wild mons that are in the room are also invisible. I have a screenshot of the event without a sprite just in case.
I am on the latest patch also just in case.
Thank you for your hardwork and the amazing game.

Heya, sometimes when i visit the underground or when i get into random battles in the overworld, the game just closes out and it sometimes just keeps doing it, good stuff though loving it so far.

Try running it from the 'Game_old' executable if you can and see if an error message pops up when it happens.

when i try using game_old, it will not seem to open so i can check the issue and the cause of the problem, and i tried clicking open on it a few times.

Hm, unfortunate. Without any way to troubleshoot I'm not sure if there's anything I can do to fix it.
Every instance I know of that's had issues on starting battle doesn't seem to have any consistent trigger for it, which makes it a nightmare to check for.

i'll see if i can do something to try and open the Game_old to see the issue with the constant crashing for me.

after a bit of asking another person to try and open it, we cannot seem to open Game_old whatsoever and i don't know why we can't open it.

Huh, I seem to be having trouble with it too, I've tested it before and had no issues, I might need to change the scripts around to be safe.
I think if you can rename the current 'Game' to something else and then rename 'Game_old' to 'Game', it should be able to open.

After doing that i was able to get the troubleshooting issue and able to get the issue screenshotted so i can show the issue. thank you for telling me to change it.

Is there save compatibility with future versions?
It's something I like to know before starting a game, especially one in the demo phase because often times the answer for demos will be no.

I'm eager to check this game out though, Voltsy's thumbnails of it are driving me nuts.

Im stuck after the first gym idk where to go i was in the caves but i dont have cut do i have to get it from somewhere

Save data will remain compatible with future versions. Maintaining the save data of my original playtesters is one of the reasons I never properly updated past v18.

Cut isn't acquired until after the second gym. You'll need to go to Route 3 and get the Rock Smash HM from a hiker there.

the main error from the troubleshoot was
Script '[interpreter]' line 246: RuntimeError occurred

i do redownload the game but the same issue pops up again a bit later for some reason.

I have absolutely no clue why that error would be triggering from an overworld encounter of all things but I threw together a quick fix and in the process fixed another major issue that was popping up with roaming Pokémon.

I updated the download links and threw in the patch, hopefully that should fix your issues.
