Welcome to Verdan Academy, a prestigious institution nestled deep within the Aldana region—where tradition, ambition, and mystery collide.

You’re one of the few students selected to join this year’s class, each member assigned to a dorm that shapes their path. Fate places you in Fennel Wing, the underdog dorm known more for misfits than prodigies. But as you'll soon discover, this year will be anything but ordinary.

Meet unforgettable classmates, build friendships, rivalries, and uncover strange rumors surrounding ancient ruins hidden throughout the campus grounds. With exploration programs reinstated after a mysterious suspension, something long buried begins to stir once more.

What secrets lie beneath the surface of Aldana? And why does it feel like you're being watched?

Your journey at Verdan Academy is about to begin—but not every lesson comes from a textbook.

(Some features are still a WIP)

School Life Simulation
You live the life of a student at Verdan Academy, forming relationships, attending events, and exploring the world beyond campus.
Interactions with other students (like Lara, Rei, Nina) affect story direction through an affinity system.

Narrative-Driven Progression
A branching storyline filled with secrets, ancient ruins, tension between factions, and moral choices.
Dialogue and event outcomes can change based on earlier choices, making the story reactive and immersive.

Enhanced Battle System
Battles are visually impressive thanks to Elite Battle: DX, with animated intros, battle UI upgrades.

Exploration & Side Quests
Explore areas like the Whispering Ruins, Glintgrove Way, and Mantia Island, each with its own story hooks and encounter tables.
Side quests flesh out characters and the world, including ruin investigations and hidden truths about Pokémon and the factions.

Relationship & Reputation System
Helping or ignoring characters affects your affinity with them, influencing both story and dialogue in subtle and meaningful ways.

Special Thanks
To all developers, spriters, coders, and contributors who continue to support the fan development community.

Thank You for Playing!

Thank you so much for playing this game! This project holds a special place for me, as it's the very first one that has made it past the planning stages and into something that you can actually experience. I truly appreciate your time and support as you explore the world I've created.

As this is my first real endeavor into game development, I must apologize for any rough edges or imperfections you may encounter along the way. I'm still learning , and your feedback is invaluable to me as I continue to improve and refine the experience.

I hope you enjoy the journey, and once again, thank you for being a part of it!

This project was originally created for the InsertName Game Jam of 2025.
Thank you to all the coordinators and players who made the event possible!

The game is great so far! The only problem for me is that all of the tasks you have to do aren't documented. For example, when Lara calls you to enter the whispering forest, Mia also calls you to go to the gym. It's hard to remember what to do after you've done something else. A quest system would be nice, in my opinion.
Hey there, Sugomayea! Yes, indeed, I had this planned already. The Quest System plugin was installed; I just hadn’t taken the time to add the quests. This is important, since many quests have a deadline before they expire, and it can lead to the player missing out on some events. Thank you so much for reminding me!

Alright, thanks! I can't wait for the next updates!

Quick question: What am I supposed to do after I've fought the Alolan Marowak? I'm pretty sure I've done everything in the Tower.

I’ve been working non-stop on the next update, and I can barely wait to release it! I’m aiming to pack in as much content as possible, including a battle challenge to keep you busy until the following update. I really hope it lives up to your expectations.

Please take some rest to so you don't get burn out losing motivation and worse get sick

Hey everyone!

Sorry for the delay, Chapter 1 is finally done! I’ve been a bit under the weather, so development slowed down a little, but I’m getting back on track.

On the bright side, we’ve got some great news: Zyphyr has joined the project and will be working on character portraits for the game! I’m also currently adding new maps and side quests so the next version can be as polished and complete as possible.

If anyone’s interested in helping out with beta testing, please let me know, I’d really appreciate it!

I can only said good luck because my depression make me unfit for task with high commitment like that

HI i was wondering if you have a discord server for the game and i just started playing and so far it has been running smooth

Hiya!
Thanks for playing! I’m glad to hear it’s running smoothly so far.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a Discord server for the game, wrangling a whole server is definitely not in my skill tree 🥲
That said, if you find any bugs or weird stuff, please let me know! I’d love to squash ‘em.

Pokémon Supernova – Update Log

Chapter 1 Release – v0.2.06272501

After 3 months of development, Chapter 1 of Pokémon Supernova is now complete! This marks a major milestone in the journey, and we’re excited to finally share it with all of you.

What’s New?

Chapter 1 fully implemented

Dive into the story, meet the main cast, and explore new areas filled with unique characters, side quests, and battles.

8 New Sidequests to Explore
Discover unique mini-stories, character moments, hidden items, and even some moral choices that may influence how others see you.

Collab Battle Challenge added
A special battle event featuring teams inspired by fellow creators! Expect future patches to expand this mode with new opponents and rewards.

Text and Dialogue Revamp
Early-game dialogue has been polished to better reflect each character’s personality and improve flow. Small lore hints have also been sprinkled into optional NPC interactions.

New Explorable Areas
Several new locations have been unlocked, including ruins, labs, and optional rooms within the Academy.

Mirinth City is now explorable (early access)
While full Chapter 2 content isn’t here yet, you can now roam the early sections of Mirinth City.
🕵️‍♂️ There are two secret events hidden in this area, can you find them?

Trainer Level Rebalancing
Several trainer battles across early routes and events have been re-tuned for better pacing and challenge. Some previously overtuned fights should now feel more fair.

New Sidequests and Story Triggers
Enhanced interactivity, optional story beats, and new world-building opportunities now available across multiple areas.

⚠️ Important Notice – Save File Compatibility
🔴 Older save files may not be fully compatible with this update.

I strongly recommend starting a new save file for this release to avoid crashes or broken quests.
Moving forward, each update will include instructions on where to save beforehand to ensure compatibility. The goal is to avoid future conflicts while continuing to expand the world.

Earlier Area Content Updates

  • New NPCs with optional quests and worldbuilding
  • Additional hidden items and loot rewards
  • Updated encounter tables for better balance and variety
  • Polished cutscene transitions and animations
  • Minor map improvements and bug fixes
  • Fixed several logic errors with trainers and pathing

Special Thanks

This project wouldn’t be the same without the support and creativity of others. I want to give heartfelt thanks to the following contributors:

  • To all the creators who submitted their teams for the Collab Battle Challenge – your creativity brought this event to life and gave it a truly unique spark.
  • Special thanks to sammyy_zzz – our newest tester! Your feedback helped smooth out rough edges and brought major improvements in a very short time.
  • Thanks to Zyphyr – who is working on the character portraits for the game. While still in progress, their work will be integrated in future updates and will add a whole new level of personality to the cast.
  • Huge shoutout to Oshawott64 – who created custom Pokémon sprites and original battle music for the Collab Battle Challenge. Seriously... VERY IMPRESSIVE.

And finally…

  • To you, the player – thank you for taking the time to play Pokémon Supernova. This game is the result of three intense months of effort, and seeing players explore this world means everything.

I am so happy to play SuperNova chapter one thanks for the game too

Hey Folk, I haven’t had any issues myself, but one of my buddies has experienced that. It sounds like a memory leak. I wasn’t aware it was a 20.1 issue—makes me wonder if it was ever addressed or if there’s anything I can do about it. 🤔 I’ll do a bit of research on this.

Also saw this reading the thread - 20.1 does have more leak than 21.1 in my experience. That said, it is hard to specifically isolate why, as it just may be that those games on 20.1 were "heavier" in regards to plugins than the games on 21.1 I played, hard to say without more data.

Issue I am sure you'd have to weigh is compatibility of plugins if you shift from 20 to 21. I've never minded just saving every hour for games that have the leak.

Will try this soon I think, you prefer bug reports in this thread or via DMs? Congrats on the update BTW!
It’s up to you, the more bugs you can find, the faster I can patch them, so just go with whatever works best for you!
Quick question for those of you playing the game: would you like me to add a speed-up plugin? I originally left it out since the game is more story-driven than a League Rush, but I totally get that everyone has different play styles.

Also, I’ve enlisted the help of JolteonMD to get the game translated into Spanish. I honestly feel a little bad for him with the sheer amount of text in the game 😅.

On another note, I’m aiming to keep a GBA-style look for the overworld, so I’ve started creating my own building tiles. I'd love to hear your thoughts! And if you're better at it than me (which, let’s be honest, isn’t that hard), and want to help speed things up, feel free to shoot me a DM!

3rpLgdF.png

LFA6wFE.png

MbfW3O5.png

Speed up would indeed be nice, the battles especially are very slow. An encounters plugin too if it isn't too much trouble would be cool as well! I played some yesterday, nothing more than superficial things that I will just DM you so this thread doesn't become overly cluttered.

AZGAC68.png

Sorry, guys—Mimi’s been at it again!
Big thanks to Zinkatron for spotting these issues. Here's what’s been fixed in the latest update:

  • Fixed a bug in the Academy Cafeteria that let players access the kitchen area when they shouldn’t.
  • Resolved issues with the Cafeteria Store not functioning properly (or at all).
  • Fixed problems with the “Hachiko” quest. >.>
  • Removed the Unreal Time Plugin – While there will still be time-related events, this plugin caused too many issues to keep in the project.
  • Added a Speed-Up Plugin!
Press the Q key to speed up the game. Use it at your own discretion—this is a story-driven game, and you might miss important stuff if you skip too quickly! >.>

⚠️ Warning
There’s an issue that needs to be fixed, but unfortunately, I’m not home to patch it just yet.
For now, please avoid taking any classes before completing the Orientation Quest.

Sorry for the inconvenience—I’ll have it fixed as soon as possible!

Alright folks, here we go.

I believe I’ve finally managed to fix all of the issues—at least, I really hope I have. >.>

Thank you so much to everyone who’s been playing and reporting things before they turned into bigger problems. You’re helping this project stay on track.

🛠️ Fixes & Adjustments:
  • New NPC after the first dungeon:
If you see someone new standing near the Academy’s front desk after completing the first dungeon, please talk to him.
That means your game has a couple of broken switches, and he’ll help clean those up for you.
  • Battler sprite positions adjusted
Several battle sprites were slightly off-center. They’ve been tweaked and should now look better in combat.
  • Class reward exploit patched
There was an issue where classes could loop and hand out infinite rewards. It’s been patched now—it sounded fun, but it would’ve broken progression later on.
  • Fennel Wing “Repaired” Sign
The invisible sign is no longer invisible. Should behave properly now.
  • Looping music after Ebon Veil battle
The ruins music wouldn’t stop playing after a grunt battle. This should now be fixed.
  • Crimson Echo event loop fixed
That event was repeating when it shouldn’t. It’s been resolved.
  • Lara’s cutscene with Vespera
This could trigger while the player still had control, causing weird behavior. That’s been corrected.
  • Lua & Veylan’s debrief replay bug
Their meeting might have replayed more than once. This has been fixed, but if you’ve already passed that point, it might replay one last time—unless you talk to the new NPC mentioned above.
  • Dialogue review pass
Several lines throughout the game have been revised for flow, clarity, and tone.
HUGE THANKS to : Zinkatron and Sammy for helping identifying these, you are amazing.

A quick note from me:

You guys have really given me a lot of energy to work harder on pushing this project forward, and I can’t stress enough how thankful I am for the interest and support. Every bit of feedback and encouragement has helped keep this going—and I truly appreciate it.

Thanks again for sticking with the project and helping iron out these bumps.

I’ll keep doing my best to make each update smoother and more fun to play. If anything else breaks, you know where to find me.

Hey, I have a quick question. After the first dungeon, is that the end of the chapter, or is there something else? I have no clue where to go after the cutscene.
