Pokémon Ranger Star (Stylized as Pokémon Ranger ✪) is a fangame made for the Insert Name Jam 2!
​

About it:​

On this game you will embark on an adventure as a Pokémon Ranger, rescuing Pokémon, helping people, protecting the environment, exploring the world and solving mysteries!

Gameplay:​

This game plays a little different when compared to the traditional Pokémon games. Here, each battle is in real time! You can command your Pokémon and your trainer to unleash powerful moves and dodge your enemy attacks!

Thanks! I'm really glad u feel like this about the protagonist, due to the jam deadline I wasn't sure if I would be able to include multiple protagonists but I really wanted to try, so I'm glad I made this decision :) I hope u enjoy the game as well!
 
Very fun game. Would love to see this fleshed into a full version. The team did a great job with everything. The writing, the atmosphere, and the music, just fits it perfectly.
 
Hi I am really enjoying your game! Really digging the battle system, progression writing, quality of life features, and the assignment system. Encountered a couple script errors with the first boss but eventually got past it. Also noticed using Rest creates a script error too.

Are you using a script for your realtime battles? If so which one is it?

Hey thanks for playing, and thanks for reporting the errors, I'm already aware of them but I can't work on fixing them right now unfortunately.

As for the battle system, I made it myself so it's not really a resource you can just download and make it work on your project unfortunately

Wow! Did the battle system take a very long time to make from scratch? That is pretty crazy because the only other similar game I know of, Project Reloaded, took several years. Thanks for making the game. I hope someone continues it someday.

It took some time yeah, I never really stopped working on it during the jam, ofc after working on a lot of mechanics I had to take some time to work on the maps and events, but I kept changing and adding to it. I'm glad you enjoyed it it! :D
