Using Essentials Features in non-Essentials RMXP Games

I've been having quite a lot of fun fooling around in rpg maker xp again (since steam had recently given it away for free), and also pokemon essentials, since I'm a fan of theorycrafting my perfect pkmn version but not sure if I have enough good ideas to make an entire standalone game. Mostly just seeing what I can do and what my current skill level is. I'm finding that I'm mainly good at events and mapping, but not so great at scripts. Something I'm realizing though, is that essentials has some incredibly good features that baseline rmxp lacks, namely mkxp-z, audio files that can have loop points, and map connections & its editor. I feel like those three-ish things are absolutely necessary for me to implement in whatever thing I make in rmxp, mainline pokemon or otherwise (think like, a mystery dungeon kinda game).

Are there resources for how I could create the same functionality outside of essentials? Anything basically plug-and-play like how essentials is? The way mkxp-z describes itself on its website is utterly incomprehensible (like basically anything else on hosted github that requires being "compiled??" or "made???" instead of just copying & pasting it like a normal script or downloading like a normal resource), so that might require a few long nights and some homework. Maybe just regular mkxp? But the other things seem maybe doable so long as I can figure out how they work. And if I somehow manage to yoink the audio/map features from essentials, who do I give the credit to? Just "pokemon essentials" in general?

Tldr, the old forum I used to go to (back in the day when I had rmxp on my old computer) shut down, and I don't know where The Cool Kids get their resources anymore :')
