Uhh no that's not supposed to happen. There's a proper intro were you can choose a player char and your name. If you join the discord server, it's easier to sent screenshots, so I can help better with whatever is going wrong for you.

You need only ONE data folder. You can delete the other one. If you start a new save file, it doesn't matter which data folder you choose. Go into the "Male-Data Folder" folder (or female), there's the data folder you need. Take that and put it into thhe main folder of the game. Where Audio...

It's roaming the Crimson Area. Only five maps though (because caves are excluded), so it shouldn't be as annoying as in the og games. There's an item that can help to get it, if you find the quest in Sylfleur. No mega stones for any legis yet!

Yeah, if you restart the game, it doesn't matter. Otherwise, pick the data folder for your player gender c: open the first folder were the data folder is, and move it into the games general folder! If you're unsure, there's a read me that explains it.
