You dont really have to since the update was just a little fix. But if you want the changes mentioned in the changelog, yes you have to. But your save file is not influenced by that if you play on pc

The color question at the beginning is just a final question to define your trainer class. It has no effect on the randomizer. Imo, for the first playthrough dont play a randomizer. But thats up to you.

Starters have a shiny chance of 1/20, so you can pretty easily retry to get one with a better nature. Normally you can get mints around gym 7, but you can choose one in the first pokemon center freely.

Yes, static encounters like legendarys are affected from the boosted shiny rate as well. To find Travis on Route 28, you have to finish his previous quest lines in Amberdale, Granitedeep City and Lowclay Town.

Thanks for this amazing feedback😂 The default shiny rate for encounters is 1/2048. Shiny Charm and the trainer ability both give a factor of two. So it should be 4/2048 = 1/512 😉
