If you haven't done the story in the city yet, go to the cafe.
If you fought Kaden, go back to the cafe and then find the house you're told to go to.
If you did all that and the group is out of that house, leave the city.
Patch 2.3 is out! Changelog has all the juicy details. Most noteworthy: New Pokeballs, version number on the load screen, several things no longer crash the game, and Poison is now SE on Water. Enjoy!
This is quite clearly and literally addressed in the first post of this thread. We're getting tired of people coming to us because they didn't patch. You need the PATCH AND CORE. This is mentioned multiple times in this thread and on the download page.
Leech Life has been updated. Largely we're using gen 7 movesets, so a lot of Pokemon that had early Leech Life have Absorb now instead.
Leech Seed was never updated to begin with, so I'm not sure what you're referring to.
Freezing/crashing: We've not encountered that specific type of freeze, and there's the possibility it may be your computer not liking the game.
Following Pokemon: Change maps and/or press Ctrl once or twice. The following sprite just isn't refreshing and Ctrl recalls/sends out the Pokemon.
I personally disagree with the stance Relic Castle is taking, but I do understand it. This definitely isn't the end of an era, though. Pokemon fans- especially fangame developers- are a resilient bunch and I'm sure several dozen mirrors of Essentials are floating around the net right now...
The Pokemon Center issue: we are aware and that will be fixed in the next patch. Please use the center at least once to set your homedata before entering a battle.
Save file: We've not seen this issue before, but depending on when you last updated, you may be playing on a map that was changed...
The direct download sometimes doesn't work; this is exactly why we have three other mirrors.
Lycanroc forms are solely dependent on what time of day you evolve the Rockruff. None of those Ability shenanigans here.
Patch the game.

Edit to make this more clear
Numerous people on the Discord server, here, and even on Twitter are asking a question we've had the answer to for over a day now.
"Why can't my Pokemon attack?" or some variation of such.
We didn't realize exactly how clear we needed to make...
Posting here despite it being answered in Discord, just in case:
The Copycat issue was apparently a known thing that we fixed at some point after the 1.3.1 release. Should be fine in 2.0.
