Story Info
"Congratulations on being chosen by Professor Lotus! You have been chosen to join a research project to catalog the Pokémon that inhabit an island in the archipelago. You'll be tasked with collecting and recording what you see on your journey and delivering it to Lotus. But something is wrong with this island that goes beyond the understanding of the natives who live here. Will you find out what it is and return safely, or will you fail trying?"

  • Story progression is based on your dex progress but there are traditional battles in the game!
  • 1/128 shiny rate!
  • Multiple saves & backup saves.
  • Infinite Repel & PC system added to the PokeGear.
  • Hidden abilities are 1/3 in general.
  • 80 TMs. All buyable or in the overworld in some form
  • A select few new abilities, moves & Fakemon.
  • The player can speed up with :AUX2 (correlating to Q by default) & edit move sets, items+ in a Pokémon's summary with :USE (correlating to C, Space, Return by default).
The game is complete besides the postgame.
45 minuteish playtime assumably going by dev runs.

Hello, I started playing your game.
I stumbled on a soft lock :
After the first fight againt Lorraine, if I blackout, I get a cutscene with professor lotus and the four assistants and then the game freezes when the professor tries to take the stairs because the player is blocking here due to the blackout.

Here are some other passability errors I noted (they are all minor):

Yeah the first one is known. Idk how to fix that tbh without funking up the story sequencing.

Finished playing the game! You saw my thoughts on stream but I'll try to condense them here.
Overall, it's a nice okay game. It does a lot of things well. Nice ai, nice art work, nice sprites, a fun premise, nice characters. A lot of good stuff.
But there is also a lot of stuff that is so clearly lacking polish and playtesting. I can't really list it all here off the top of my head but there is a lot.
-Passability issues
-Trainers not running to you
-Aspects of the UI missing
-Incomplete features
-Typos & lengthy dialogue at times
-Most pokemon evo levels haven't been adjusted to fit the length of the game
-Trainers not having post battle dialogue
-Boss pokemon not having anything that actually make them feel like bosses
-The game having an emphasis on catching lots of wild pokemon, but not really having any features that lean into it (e.g nice rewards for catching lots of pokemon, or a less tedious catching experience)
-A lackluster hub map

Individually, none of these are really a big deal, but all together, it brings what could've been a great game to an okay game. And with the exception of stuff like boss mechanics and new catching mechanics, all of these are pretty easy to improve on or fix.

I think going forward, dedicating time to adding a layer to polish to your games would benefit immensely. That being said, I'm already seeing you improve A LOT. I found this to be a massive improvement from the jam release of Hibernation, so you're obviously learning and going places! Keep it up!
 
Just finished the game and wow, it was as gorgeous as the screenshots XD

I have always been a sucker for personalized menu options, and the pastel colored cloud motif of the Pokémon screen is absolutely beautiful. The entire game has such a pleasing design and colors, yes, but I especially love that part XD The fact that the summary part looks like a night sky is gorgeous, I love how detailed the battle backgrounds are. I adore the character portraits. Flutter balls are absolutely adorable XD

But I gushed about the visuals enough; the story is very interesting as well. An outworldly deity whose whole purpose is to cause chaos? Kinda reminds me of Klarion from DC, especially the Young Justice variant XD I was really expecting the old assistants to be trying to espicially awaken it or something so it was a nice curveball!

I also adore the spiral corridors we had to spiral through to reach Chaos at the end, I hated every second of it, perfect for their character XD

Definitely could use a bit more polish, but it was a very fun game overall!
